I was bombarded with the whole full blast of Christmas marketing upon my return. It is quite different in New Zealand. partly because it is summer and partly because the culture is just not so focused on shopping. Yes, this is an excellent month for looking at goals for next year but to me, this season is all about being with people I love. It is not about buying gifts. It is about slowing down and building relationships with the important people in my life. In January I am full force into making some changes in my business and creating goals for the year. It is a powerful time to do this. I offer a seminar on creative business planning and enjoy working with others to move past those mental blocks. I think December it is good to slow down and have down time and then really pick it up in January when it feels like a fresh start.
